    Ellisville Harbor State Park is a lovely nature preserve on the coast. Thousands of years ago, prehistoric Native Americans hunted and fished here. The parks salt marshes, beaches, meadows and red pine forest are teeming with wildlife and wonderful places to explore today.

    It's a great place to fish, beachcomb and hike; there are trails throughout the park. Parts of the beach are closed in spring to protect piping plovers and least terns who nest here.
