Enno Wilhelm Hektor was a German writer born on November 21, 1820, in Dornum, East Frisia. In addition to training as a clerk with a lawyer, he began writing fairy tales and poems at an early age. He became known as the author of socially critical books, poems, and plays. He also published in Low German. His most famous work is the East Frisian homeland song "In Oostfreesland is’t am besten."
