The German Gate (French Porte des Allemands) is located in the French city of Metz, Lorraine. The gate, the only one of 17 medieval city gates of the Metzer city wall has been preserved, was named after the adjacent former hospital of the Teutonic Order, which was set up around 1210 near the church of St. Eucharius (Saint-Eucaire).
