Bretten-Ruit (kn) The idea for the Crab Fountain in Ruit came about in the run-up to the Bretten district's 750th anniversary. At a neighborhood meeting, possible activities to honor the anniversary were discussed, and before anyone knew it, the idea of building a village fountain was born. The necessary location was also quickly found: the new structure was to be located in the center of the village at the bus turnaround next to the town hall. The idea soon developed into concrete plans for the fountain's structure and design, and the local council quickly approved the construction.
