On April 1, 1909, today's Westrich was incorporated into Bövinghausen. The 3,602 residents of Bövinghausen were joined by 980 westerners. This number rose to 4,698 registered residents in 1910, which among other things. made it necessary to expand the station.
During this phase, a workers' colony in the style of the garden city, the Landwehr colony, developed around the mine. When this colony no longer offered the necessary capacities due to new growth thanks to new workers, a second colony was built on the Ober- and Unterdelle in the 1920s. Both colonies still exist today.

The whole time you are walking through green parks and suddenly you are standing in the middle of an industrial area on a not shabby platform with a pretty little station building in the background. But just a few meters further on you are back in a beautiful, well-kept, beautifully restored, authentic mining building.
