Surrounded by olive groves, the city of Jaén is one of the gates of Andalusia. Located in the northeast of the Andalusian autonomous community, straddling the Sierra Morena and the Betic Cordilleras, it shelters the source of the Guadalquivir. Its Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin faces the Town Hall and the Episcopal Palace. It is huge for a city of this size.
