The church building was already planned as a meeting center and forms an almost sculptural ensemble with the integrated day care center, youth rooms and amphitheater and the staff apartments in the immediate vicinity.

The Protestant church, which was built in 1968-74 according to plans by the Swiss architect Walter Maria Förderer, can be assigned to brutalism. The ensemble of church and community center with its 23 m high church tower is sculptured in exposed concrete. The entire community center was placed under a preservation order in 2018 and could use the appropriate historical preservation sensitivity in its maintenance.

The listed (2018) Church of Peace is modeled on the Swiss Alps. It was built in 1968-1974 according to plans by the Swiss Walter Maria Förderer. The construction can be assigned to Brutalism.
Penetrating moisture, especially on the west and east facades, causes parts of the fair-faced concrete to flake off. The reason is the admixture of the porous blast furnace slag. The facade renovation (over 3000 square meters) is scheduled to start in 2024.
I find the sight to be getting used to.
