This memorial, on the other hand, was already built on 26 April 1941 by Major General W.F.A. Hackstroh revealed.
The monument was erected in memory of the 52 soldiers who fell in the fight against the occupying forces near the Haagsche Schouw and the airports Valkenburg and Ockenburg.
In addition, the monument honors the soldiers of the 22nd Depot Battalion who fought with German paratroopers on 10 May 1940 to get their hands on the bridge at the Haagsche Schouw.
