Plaza Gabriel Miró also known as the Post Office Square because the Post Office is located along the square in a beautiful building. The square is in a strategic and central location, very close to the main shopping area and the old town. The leafy centuries-old ficus trees make this place a very pleasant place with a beautiful fountain.

The Plaza Gabriel Miró is also popularly known as the Post Office Square, in memory of the headquarters of the Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos (State Post and Telegraph Company) that were located on the square.
Known since ancient times as Plaza de las Barcas, because then boats could still reach it. It was eventually renamed in memory of the writer Gabriel Miró, the city's illustrious son.
It is square in shape and contains, among others, several centenary Ficus (catalogued as monumental trees), the monument to Gabriel Miró or the Aguadora fountain, (Vicente Bañuls in Alicante in 1918).
