History: The amphitheater in Kostrzyn nad Odrą was built in 1987 as a result of the social activities of the members of the "Friends of the City of Kostrzyn" association, led by its president, Jerzy Trepczyk. The opening ceremony took place during the city festival in June 1987.

Current: According to this concept, the Kostrzyn amphitheater was to become a true art and culture center in the border region, and the slogan "Art on the Border" was to become a reality.

The Kostrzyn amphitheater was established in 1987 as a result of social activities of people gathered around the Society of Friends of Kostrzyn, especially its president, Jerzy Trepczyk.
In 2010, as part of the EU project, a new band shell with an auditorium was built in the amphitheater in Kostrzyn nad Odrą and the area around the adjacent pond was developed for recreational functions.

Why is it called an amphitheater if it isn't one? The Colosseum in Rome is an amphitheater, as is Berlin's Olympic Stadium... but this one isn't.
