Bird sanctuary
By resolution of March 18, 1991, the forest area with an area of around 9.4 hectares was designated as a nature reserve. The Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection assigned the cadastral number NSG-00383.01 to the protected area. The area is part of the Natura 2000 network and was assigned to the Maintal area between Schweinfurt and Dettelbach. In addition, the entire area is designated as a bird sanctuary and flora-fauna habitat.
