Imposing 14th-century moated castle!
One of the most beautiful castles on Lake Garda.
Located in the center of town, it is one of Riva's main attractions.
The castle originally served to defend and control the town's harbor.

Vandring

The Rocca di Riva is considered to be the most important sight in Riva. The fortress was first mentioned in 1124. Over the centuries, the castle's owners changed several times and the fortress was repeatedly modified. Today, the Rocca di Riva houses the Museo Alto Garda, which displays historical documentation of the city of Riva, as well as archaeological finds from the Copper Age, around 4000 - 3000 BC.

Vandring

The moated castle might be right on the lake and today houses a museum with a restaurant. All around there are small boats at anchor, which somehow seems to match the atmosphere of Lake Garda, but of course it doesn't fit the moat of a castle.
