Visitors are often captivated by the mill's "wild romantic" ambiance and its deep historical roots. The meticulously preserved mill cellar still houses the original grinding mechanism, complete with millstones and drive wheels, offering a tangible connection to its industrial past. A highlight is the functional water wheel, renewed through local initiative, which can still be set in motion, showcasing the ingenious use of water power that defined its operations for centuries. This blend of historical architecture and natural beauty makes the Kupfersiefer Mühle a truly distinctive landmark.

While the interior of the Kupfersiefer Mühle is generally accessible only during events, the exterior and its tranquil surroundings are open for exploration. Using the power of moving water to drive a mill wheel is an ancient invention of the human spirit of discovery, the origins of which can be traced back to times long past. Thanks to such a construction, human or animal muscle power could be easily replaced by the power of the natural elements through a watercourse - natural or artificially created - in order to grind grain into corn or press oil from fruit, for example.

There are essentially two different ways of driving watermills:

It was built as a flour mill in 1783. Elector Karl Theodor had granted the concession to build a mill on Kupfersiefer Bach. Because the creek often had only a low water level and thus lacked the required driving force for the mill wheel, since 1820 a liquor distillery was additionally set up as a sideline.
