    Frosch (Frøen) tilhører gruppen Nikolsdorfer Wände, som geologisk hører til det såkaldte Steine-område. Sammenlignet med de store massiver som Schrammsteine er sandstenen her ofte mere finopdelt og præget af stærk erosion, hvilket fører til meget plastiske klippeformer – som netop „Frosch“.
