Calahonda Nerja beach is undoubtedly the most photographed cove in Nerja. Its 120 meters of sand, accompanied by small fishing boats and immaculate white sheds, form a beautiful postcard that every tourist wants to keep in their camera. Hikers' mobiles full of pictures of this beautiful beach taken from the most important balcony in Axarquia.

Playa Calahonda is a beach about one hundred and twenty meters long and about twenty meters wide. It has a high occupancy rate given its privileged location in the center of Nerja. You can enjoy a pleasant medium-grained sand, dark in color and moderate waves. Access is not difficult, although it is not adapted for disabled people. To get to the beach you have to go down a zigzag slope with stairs. Unfortunately, the only beach bar that was El Papagayo is closed (2022).
