The panoramic view into the lava pit shows textbook-like the anatomy of an Eifeler layer or ash and Schlackevulkans. The mountain nose consists in the lower part of ash and Lapillischichten, which are slightly offset by the disturbances and landslides against each other. Over this lower layer package store with a unconformity - as the geologist calls the discontinuity area between two differently incident layer packages - black and brown layers of a second eruption cycle. The unconformity marks the crater rim; at the disturbances whole layer packages slipped into the crater.
