Vandring

The Plattleite served as a connection between Loschwitz and Weißer Hirsch in the past. In the past, the sometimes very narrow and steep path was also referred to as a ravine. In the municipal documents from 1875 there is already a cost estimate for the construction and widening of the ravine. It was then that the name Plattleithenweg appeared for the first time. It is believed that Platt was a field name, and a mountain slope is generally referred to as Leite or Leithe.

This is a somewhat strenuous uphill path, which is very romantic but steep in the lower part and leads under the funicular railway.
The upper part takes you through Dresden's most beautiful and noble residential area, where large parts of the action of the novel "The Tower" take place.
The tram (11) takes you quickly back to the center.
