Rodheim is characterized by an intact town center. Old building fabric has always been lovingly renovated. Many half-timbered houses from the 16th and 17th centuries have been preserved, as well as two old school buildings, court estates of the lower nobility, the office of the Count of Hanau, a 15th-century church tower on the market square, the stylish Protestant parish church and the site of the former synagogue - all really worth seeing. There are lovingly designed information boards everywhere along the tour of the town.

Vandring

The church tower from the 15th century, which can be found on Rodheim's market square - without the earlier nave of course - is a late result of the Reformation and the Thirty Years' War. It was not uncommon for Imperial Catholic troops to destroy the formerly Catholic churches that had been taken over in the course of the Reformation. The church ruins were then removed; a new, Protestant church emerged from this, mostly very close by - as in Rodheim and, in a very similar way, impressively in the town of Nidda.
