The castle that once stood here, known at the time as 'het Blauwhuis', was built in 1668 and demolished in 1838. The castle farm has always been standing and you can still visit it today. You can also enjoy delicious food in the restaurant.

Vandring

The Slotplaats is an ancient estate in the wooded area of Bakkeveen and was built in 1668. Then the Aylva family built a castle there, called the Blauwhuis. The Blauwhuis was demolished in 1838. Only the castle farm remained and to this day it is the icon of the Slotplaats estate. Nowadays you can go here for delicious 'Dutch Cuisine'. With tasty products from Dutch soil, surprising dishes are prepared that are also less harmful to the environment. natuurmonumenten.nl.
