The Church of the Assumption was built in the 15th century on the foundations of an earlier 13th century church-fortress. The tower of the military building was used to build the bell tower of the current church. The church has been declared a Historic-Artistic Monument. Inside, it preserves excellent altarpieces from the Andalusian school such as that of Santa Catalina and that of San Jerónimo. We can also admire a beautiful baroque organ. The 16th century sacristy also stands out.

The Parish Church of Ntra. Sra. De la Asunción de Cuacos de Yuste is one of the most complex and interesting temples in the region, because it preserves remains belonging to very different styles that give it a certain originality within the religious constructions of La Vera, being the only one whose interior was completely renovated in the Baroque period, although its plant and general layout respond to the same type as the others.
