The Schneverdingen town fountain is located in the town center, directly in front of the town hall. With its imaginatively designed figures, it depicts the local world of fairy tales and legends and invites the viewer to linger a while.
In the vicinity of this "enchanted" fountain tree, imaginative stories thrive, telling of robbers, giants, devils, and witches. Fighting bulls rummaged through the once fertile soil, so that the wind carried away the topsoil, and ultimately only sand and stones remained on the heath.
The vividly depicted "events" are all taken from the local story collection.
