Vandring
Today, the Paußnitz branches off from the Lauerschen Grenzgraben in the southwestern Leipzig district in the Großzschocher district and in the Lauer district. After just a few hundred meters, it reaches the Großzschocher district, where it flows for about half of its remaining distance and is partially straightened.
In the Connewitz district, the Paußnitz mainly uses its natural winding riverbed in the Leipzig Ratsholz. After a total of 5.95 km, it flows through a sluice into the Elster flood bed that runs between the districts (and districts of the same name) of Connewitz and Schleußig.
