Ytterhogdal is a place (Tätort) in the municipality of Härjedalen in the province of Jämtland. Ytterhogdals socken belonged to the historical province of Hälsingland and, together with Ängersjö socken to the south (both now form districts), is the only part of Hälsingland that does not belong to Gävleborgs län.

Vandring
Ytterhogdal is worth a stop on the way to the north, directly on the E45 towards Östersund. At earlier stops I found beautiful paths in the lake area for short and long hikes. The place itself has lost many residents through emigration. In the meantime the location for the increasingly frequent professional berry and mushroom pickers from Eastern Europe, who deposit mountains of collection containers and vehicles here. Still a friendly place!
