Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof is the most important train station in the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Düsseldorf. It also houses an underground station for the Düsseldorf Stadtbahn.
The junction station, which has existed since 1891 and has been rebuilt twice (1932–1936 and 1980–1985), now has 16 platform tracks. It is one of the 21 stations in the highest price class 1 of DB Station&Service and is located on the southeastern edge of the city center district between Konrad-Adenauer-Platz (formerly Wilhelmplatz), which is also used by four tram lines and a large number of bus lines, and Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz in Oberbilk.
