In the 1759 built Captain's House is a collection of local history, which was collected by the Sylt chronicler Hansen. An u. Prehistoric department documented geological finds in addition to the construction and settlement of the North Sea island. Stone tombs and coffins in front of the museum point to earlier burial rites. Traditional costumes and silver jewelery, furniture and peasant tools provide information about Frisian culture. The history of seafaring presents itself with ship models and images as well as whaling equipment. You can even close the knot in the Sylter Heimatmuseum.

If you have time and desire, a visit to the local museum of Keitum is recommended. It is worth it .. The entrance to the museum is easy to find through the arch of polling ribs.
