Unfortunately, you cannot go any further north or west from this point. During our visit, the paths were also tied up with a streak tape in addition to the fixed signage. Quote from the press (Nordkurier): "In the southern part [of the former Speck tank training area] there are so many grenades that the area can neither be explored nor cleared ..." OK - that should be enough ...

The ammunition load is one problem, the other problem is to keep your bearings. It often happens that people get lost in the area because they underestimate the distance and the pine forest, which is becoming thicker and thicker, looks almost the same everywhere.
We can only warn you about hiking route recommendations, such as those given on Google Maps across the former tank firing range.
While the National Park Office on Komoot uses openstreeetmap to help identify the closed paths, this has so far been unsuccessful on Google.

Vandring

Staying on the paths in the national park makes sense anyway so that the animals are not disturbed and the vegetation is pointlessly trampled. In addition, you fight even more with the mosquitoes in the undergrowth.
