Templum Concordiae, the name on the frieze of the round temple resting on eight Corinthian columns, was built by Emperor Franz II / I, who was actually Emperor Franz II at the time of construction and inauguration, in his Laxenburg palace park. Concordia is the name given to the goddess of harmony in Roman mythology. And the emperor wanted this building to be understood as a symbol of the unity of his peoples. As history has shown, this unity has remained just a pious wish.
