Lucca has one of the most impressive fully preserved city walls in Europe. The wall with the Italian name "Mura di Lucca" is almost 4 km long and completely surrounds the historic center. The city walls are more than 10 meters high in many places. In the past, the city was accessed through 6 gates, today there are more entrances. On the tree-lined wall there is a wide circular path.
