The Svartsengi power plant is a geothermal power plant built on the lava fields of the Svartsengi area, about 4 kilometers north of the town of Grindavík in the far southwest of Iceland. The power station was built in 1976 by the private energy company HS Orka.

The first power plant was built in 1976. Since November 6, 1976, the power plant has supplied Grindavik with district heating, and since December 30, 1977, the town of Njarðvík has also been supplied with district heating. The electrical output is 75 MW and the thermal output 150 MW.
The Blue Lagoon next to the power plant has become a tourist attraction in Iceland.
