Drivenik Castle was first mentioned in 1228. The rulers of Drivenik were the Frankopans and later the Zrinski princely family. In the 16th century the castle was enlarged and received round towers in the Renaissance style. Since 1577 the area was ruled by the Zrinski noble family. It is known that the Turks invaded the Vinodol Valley around 1607. Drivenik was thus ruled first by the Frankopans and later by the Zrinski, who were executed by the Habsburgs after a conspiracy.

Drivenik Castle (Croatian: Gradina Drivenik) is a castle in the hinterland of Crikvenica. Drivenik Castle is first mentioned in 1228 in connection with the Vinodol Code of Laws. It is located in the middle of the Vinodol region, near the village of Drivenik, on a hill called Glavica (181 meters above sea level).
