Situated on an enchanting hill in an elevated position, it probably belonged, as its name testifies, to a castle destroyed in 1518 by the Uranians.
It is an enchanting building with two parallel naves, built at two different times. The primitive chapel, perhaps aristocratic, with a round apse and a single two-storey nave (the lower probably a crypt) survived the demolition of the castle.
The plan of the current church does not correspond to the primitive one, but is the result of an addition to the north of another nave, completed with a square chancel from the early fifteenth century.
