The Duero River rises in the province of Soria, at the sources of the Duero de los Picos de Urbión at an altitude of 2,160 meters above sea level, in the municipality of Duruelo de la Sierra. This mountainous and forested area is the starting point of this iconic river.
In relation to the Pico de Urbión, it has 2,228 meters of altitude, being the maximum height of the park and extends through the plains of the Duero River, which rises very close to the summit of Urbión and Revinuesa.

Vandring

It is the place where the Duero is born and it is perfectly signposted since there is a sculpture in the place and an information panel about the river. I recommend coming from Duruelo by car to the bunker parking lot and from there reaching the place by footpath and then going up to the Picos de Urbión, taking advantage of the fact that they are nearby. By this route or from the Laguna Negra you can only get there on foot, although from Covaleda I think you can get to the Picos de Urbión by bike.

When I went, water did come out (I went at the beginning of June) and the truth is that it is strange to see a river as emblematic as the Duero reduced to a playful stream.
