Around 1877, the Ziller brothers developed the former Sophienstraße at their own expense, which was handed over to the rural community of Oberlößnitz after completion. In order to upgrade the street, which starts at a small square (Alvslebenplatz) or at Nizzastraße, Moritz Ziller placed two groups of figures from the Charlottenburg pottery factory Ernst March on pedestals at the beginning of the street. The pedestals are integrated into the enclosure of the corner plots, as is the case with No. 21, the Sophienhof.

The figures represent “garland-winding Bacchantes”, i.e. drunks. They are made of terracotta around 1870. They are on Eduard-Bilz-Strasse, at the corner of Nizza- and Maxim-Gorki-Strasse.
