Naturally! The Gréa redoubt is a small fortified work occupying a narrow mountain plateau between two wooded hills that drop steeply, both to the east and to the west, towards the Semois. Moats, to the north and to the south, about 0.80 m deep, isolate a square platform surrounded by earthen walls and delimit an interior space of almost 25 m2. It was part of a line of defense by Louis XIV along the Semois.

At this location you can literally read the history on the site. The site was formerly occupied by the entrenchment of Gréa. This former lookout post, along with the 27 others, was part of the defense line that Louis XIV had developed along the Semois. An advanced defense of France, this redoubt consisted of a hut with a central hearth, surrounded by a quadrangular earth wall and ditches, and could accommodate 6 to 10 defenders. This walk along the Semois is highly recommended!
