Vandring
Eichwald is one of the last witnesses of forest grazing. Hudewälder, as these sparse, traditionally grazed forests are called, were once widespread in the Keuperbergland. Mostly there sheep, sometimes pigs, fed on acorns. For the Hudewälder one planted oaks on the heaths or promoted existing oaks in the light pasture forests. The image of a typical Hudewald is still in the southeast of the reserve, in the vicinity of the former fairground, available.
