The exact date of the construction of the “Pilgrimage Church of the Sacrifice of Mary” is unknown. It is said that the church was consecrated around 1232. Over time, the church was destroyed several times, but the statue of Mary was preserved for posterity because it was protected by courageous Sörgenloch citizens.
