Vandring

Early historical burial mound with a diameter of 33 m, laid out in the younger Stone Age. Excavations in the 19th and 20th centuries produced, among other things, Bronze Age finds. Until a few years ago, the hill was surrounded by 12 large linden trees, 7 of which were still preserved in the summer of 2007, and at the end of 2007 there were only 3. The complex is a listed building.

Unfortunately, the bear hill is now completely fenced in.

Vandring

From the bear hill there is a broad view to the south, east and north. In the west one looks towards Ettersberg.
The paths around the bear hill are rather less varied.

Vandring

Due to its location and size, the Bärenhügel is one of the most landscape-dominating burial mounds in Thuringia. Based on the bronze finds, it is probably a Bronze Age burial site. The Bärenhügel is also located on one of the most important old paths, which is no longer really recognized or exists today.
