The State Archive of North Rhine-Westphalia at the Duisburg inner harbor uses the former granary of the Rheinisch-Westfälische Speditionsgesellschaft (RWSG). In 2014, the granary became a "knowledge store", the "memory of North Rhine-Westphalia", so to speak. The new archive tower built above the granary is 76 meters high. There, archives from 1200 years of Rhenish history are stored on 22 floors. The adjoining wave-shaped building houses offices, a workshop for restoring books, files and documents, and a reading room.
