The Bertone refuge is located in front of the imposing Mont Blanc, an hour and a half walk from Courmayeur. The Alta Via 1 of Valle d'Aosta passes through here.

The Giorgio Bertone refuge can be reached via a challenging climb from Courmayeur, along a steep wooded slope on a serpentine path. On the other side there is a magnificent balcony that leads to Arnuova. Located at an altitude of 2,000 meters in the Aosta Valley, it offers a magnificent panorama of the Mont Blanc massif and Courmayeur below.
This structure is dedicated to Giorgio Bertone, a mountain guide who was part of the first Italian ascent of the southeast face of Yosemite Valley's Nose al Capitan.
