Prigo del Rei, Alcalà de Xivert
Carlos IV and his court were on their way to Barcelona for a wedding when they decided to stop in Alcalà de Xivert. A hunt was organized in the city of Castellón on the occasion of his royal visit; Exactly where the king stayed with his family is the Prigó del Rei, an obelisk that commemorates the royal stay. Hunting was one of the favorite sports of Carlos IV. He practiced it, as was customary in the nobility of the 19th century, to temporarily part with his royal duties.
