Vandring

This earthen wall arose hundreds of years ago in the vast heath landscape. The heath then served as a grazing area for livestock. The earthen wall probably served as a kind of demarcation in the landscape. On top of the earthen wall there was another wooden wall. This combination ensured that the cattle did not go into the forests.
The historic forest wall was actually the boundary between heathland and forest. The forest wall now fulfills a very important ecological function. Mice, martens and lizards use the shore for their shelter.
