The Kleinbeuthen weir was inaugurated in 2020 after a 24-year planning phase and has since replaced the previous weir. It secures the groundwater level in the area and has a fish ladder that meets the latest standards.
The weir is the second largest single investment in the state of Brandenburg in the Nuthe catchment area.
For paddlers, the weir offers good entry points in the lower and upper water and is easy to portage.
The weir is named after the former weir warden who looked after the old weir for 63 years.
