The Reit filial church is located on an old Roman road and is part of the Rechtmehring parish association. As early as 1075 the building was mentioned as the castle of the Ritter von Reit. Around 1500 the castle complex was converted into a church. An annual Georgiritt has been taking place since 1985, this year as an "Internet service", according to the messner.
