Vandring
Lidellplatz originated at the end of the 18th century and was initially called Spitalplatz (Hospital Square).
In 1788, a hospital was built on the east side of the square. To enable the poor to receive hospital care, Privy Councillor Christoph Friedrich Lidell established a foundation in 1792. The square has been named after him since 1892, and the Lidell Monument on the square commemorates him. The hospital was demolished in 1912, and a trade school was built in its place.

Vandring
Lidellplatz is a square in the eastern part of Karlsruhe's city center. It is located at the intersection of Steinstraße, Markgrafenstraße, and Adlerstraße. The Lidell Fountain, featuring a bust of Lidell, stands in the northeast corner of the triangular square, while a playground is situated in the northwest corner. Another fountain is located in the center of the square. Its triangular shape is due to the former Karlsruhe Landgraben (a former drainage ditch) running along one side.

Nice place with a welcoming atmosphere. Right on the square in a backyard is the café Palaver to find, which is highly recommended.
