When visiting the “Ammerfeld” nature reserve above Aschfeld, please stay on the paths, otherwise non-blooming specimens of the spring Adonis will be trampled to death. These are very easy to miss. The protection of the biotope should come first, before private concerns play a role.

The “Ammerfeld” nature reserve above Aschfeld hit the headlines in 2020 when an unknown person excavated around 250 Ragwurde there. Since our native orchids can only survive in symbiosis with the mushroom mycelium in the ground, probably none of them survived the excavation for a long time.

Especially in spring the protected dry grass landscape is impressive, in which in March / April the blooming pasque flower, spring Adonis and spring fingerwort catch the eye.
