At this point is the entrance to an old slate tunnel. Slate and hard coal have been mined at the same site since 1773. In 1868 the "Société forestière du Gospinal" received the concession to mine slate here. The roofing of the Solwaster church is made of this slate.
Unfortunately, the quality of the slate turned out to be not particularly good, so the production was stopped again. In addition, the tunnel was flooded regularly.

Beautiful valley, but very busy.
Come early.
September 12, unfortunately many bridges are broken due to the flood.
Also go the other way instead of upstream.
