The King's Monument at Saltstraumen is a monument erected in 1874 to commemorate the royal visit of Oscar II on June 26, 1873. It stands on the site of a former signal mast intended to facilitate navigation through the maelstrom. Over time, two additional sides of the monument have been expanded to include the dates of the visits of the following kings:
Haakon VII visited the site on July 5, 1926, and
Olav V visited Saltstraumen on August 14, 1982.
