Vandring

Großwinternheim was first mentioned in a document in 937. The church tower is said to have been built around the same time. However, the church itself is thought to have been built as early as the 7th or 8th century. A look inside the church is worthwhile.

Vandring

937 Großwinternheim is mentioned for the first time in a document. The church tower dates from around this time. A Carolingian window in the Ingelheim Museum and a lost baptismal font with Roman script suggest that a church was built in the 7th or 8th century.

Cykling

The hall of the Catholic Church, which is closed on three sides, dates from the years 1760-64. There is an undivided tower at the southwest corner. Worth mentioning is the escape tower from the 10th century, which until 1662 could only be reached from the outside through a small gate that was five meters above the ground with the help of a ladder. There is an organ in the church, which was built in 1796 by Johannes Kohlhaas the Younger.
