Chapel in Hopfenweiler

The first chapel was built in 1606 under head sess Heinrich as the house chapel of Hofgut Hopfenweiler and richly furnished.
Today's chapel was acquired by Princess Sophie zu Waldburg-Wolfegg in 1889 (1838-1909) at the World Exhibition in Paris and had it erected under the direction of the Munich architect Carl Haggeney in place of the demolished old chapel. Some important sculptures by the Zürn family of sculptors were taken from the demolished building and were brought to Wolfegg Castle for safety reasons in the 1970s

Vandring

The chapel with its Scandinavian-Baltic influence comes from the Paris World Exhibition in 1889. Princess Sophie zu Waldburg-Wolfegg (1836–1909) liked it so much that she bought it and had it transported here. Therefore the name.
