The Stephanuskirche, originally built as Martinskirche, was the mother church for the Kirchberg area. Their influence ranged from Rot am See to Schmerach. You will find a stately fortified church in the town center, a cozy village church with excellent acoustics.
The tower dates from around 1200, the nave and chancel with late Gothic ribbed vaulting were built in 1511 by the Lords of Vellberg. A first church probably stood on this site as early as 1080. It was demolished in 1511 and the current church was built in its place.

On the side wall of the church there is a pretty sundial above some old tombstones that have been preserved.
